Indo-Fest 2017: “Livin’ Loud” Jana Alayra Concert

The teachers of ISMILE got the chance to attend this inspiring event last August 19, 2017, Saturday. The activity started with the Praise and Worship in the Grand Ballroom of Integrity Convention Center (ICC), 10th floor, Mega Glodok Kemayoran. It was followed by the Puppet Competition where we witnessed different groups vying for the win. Then, the various workshop sessions started with the great speakers bearing helpful informations. One of these workshops tackled about teaching children about anger management. Common triggers of anger discussed are envy, unfairness, change, embarrassment, humiliation, intimidation and loss and grief. On the otherhand, the ways to disarm anger in children (without battling the anger) are as follows; prepare yourself, acknowledge the anger (with respect), soothe, remove child from place of anger physically, do not embarass the child, prior arrangement with colleague or the school system, have a corner tucked away from the eyes of the children in your class made available, validate the child-talk about the anger, work on a solution together, and explore alternative ways of getting angry with the child. Finally, the much awaited part of the Indo-Fest 2017, the Jana Alayra concert. Jana Alayra praise and worship songs have been sung all over ISMILE branches everyday during circle time and every Friday during Chapel time. Thistime the teachers were able to sing and dance with herand even offered asong for her. Parentsand studentsfrom different ISMILE Centersalso came. It was an awesome night full of joy!
