Dear ISMILE Parents,
As we step into the New Year, I find myself reflecting with gratitude on the season we have just passed. The weeks leading up to Christmas brought a sense of warmth and togetherness into our school—an invitation to slow down, to notice, and to appreciate the moments that often mean the most.
Over the past months, I have witnessed growth in so many meaningful and sometimes quiet ways. I watched our infants and toddlers explore sensory materials with curiosity and joy—some cautiously at first, then with growing confidence, discovering that learning can be messy, playful, and safe. I saw children who once cried at drop-off gradually find comfort, trust, and confidence, until the classroom became a place where they felt secure and happy to be.
I also witnessed children reaching important milestones—some beginning to read, others learning to write, and many gaining confidence in expressing themselves through dance, movement, and performance. For some, standing in front of others was once intimidating; now, it is something they approach with pride and excitement. Newcomers, too, have found their place with remarkable ease, forming connections and feeling at home in a community that warmly welcomes them.
Beyond academic and physical growth, what touched me most was the development of character. I saw kindness in shared materials, patience while waiting for a turn, empathy toward friends, and resilience when challenges arose. These values—care, respect, responsibility, and confidence—are foundations that will stay with the children long after specific skills are learned.
None of this happens by chance. It is made possible by our teachers’ mindful presence and intentional practice. Through careful observation, thoughtful planning, and genuine care, they create environments where children feel seen, heard, and valued. Many of the most powerful learning moments happen quietly—in a reassuring smile, a patient pause, or a gentle encouragement—and our teachers hold these moments with great dedication.
As we move forward together, ISMILE continues to grow as a place where children feel seen, heard, and valued; where curiosity is welcomed; and where growth is celebrated in all its forms. Carrying with us the light of the Christmas season—gratitude, kindness, and connection—we look ahead to the New Year with appreciation for how far the children have come and excitement for the journeys still unfolding.
Thank you for your trust, your partnership, and for being part of the ISMILE community. It is truly a privilege to walk alongside your children during these important early years.
Wishing you and your family a peaceful, joyful, and meaningful New Year.
